Microsoft sells over 100,000 Xbox 360 systems in 7 months

GfK Australia has revealed that Microsoft has set the record for most systems sold in the first seven months after release. Since March, over 100,000 Xbox 360 consoles have been sold in Australia.

This number break's Sony's record of 78,000 PS2 systems sold in its first 7 months.

"Our figures show that Xbox 360 has been the fastest ever console to sell 100,000 units in Australia, reaching that mark in just seven months," said Daniel Morse, senior account manager for GfK. GfK Australia is a market data organization that analyzes retail and consumer metrics in Australia and New Zeland.

According to GfK, the Xbox 360 was also the country's fastest-selling console during its launch week, when it hit the 30,000 units mark in four days.
