The LaserActive by itself cannot play any videogames. It can play Laser discs and audio CDs. Three different modules can attatch to the bottom.
- The Mega-LD pack was developed with Sega. It plays LaserActive Mega-LD games, Sega Genesis and Sega CD games.
- The LD-ROM² pack was develloped with NEC Home Electronics and can play TurboChips, Super CD-ROMs and LaserActive LD-ROM² discs.
- The Laser Karaoke pack was a Karaoke system. Music videos with the words displayed along the bottom.
