Milton Bradley Microvision

Microvision (with Faceplate)

Release: 1979

The Microvision, the first cartridge-based handheld game system, paved the way for the Game Boy, Game Gear, Lynx and other handheld systems.

The Microvision was unlike it's followers, the cartridges would attatch to the front of the system, as a faceplate (see picture above). The Microvision came with the game 'Block Buster'. The systems controler was a smalll knob.

The system was designed by Jay Smith, who also created the Vectrex.
