The Sony PlayStation 2 is a 128-bit DVD-based system. The PS2 is capable of playing DVDs, Audio CDs and games for both the PS2 and its predecessor, the Sony PlayStation (or PSone). The Dual Shock 2 controller was also introduced with this system. The Dual Shock 2is essentially the same as the previous gamepad, with the small addition of analog buttons which are used in some games.

Network Adapter

The PS2 Ethernet Adapter allows the system to be connected to the internet, either over a broadband network or via dial-up. This is used for online games. (Order one now from Amazon.com)

Memory Card

To save your game data, an 8MB card is used. These cards hold a lot, but they are fairly expensive. A PSone memory card can be used to save normal PS games. (Order one now from Amazon.com)

DVD Remote

Sony PS2, Version 2 redesign

Sony announced that a new model of its PS2 system would be released in both Japan and North America in November 2004. The new model is 75% smaller and has a built-in network adapter.
