Bandai Wonderswan

Bandai's Wonderswan is a handheld video game system that was only ever released in Japan. The original Wonderswan is a 16-bit portable system that was designed to compete with Nintendo's Game Boy. The Wonderswan is one of the few non-Nintendo systems that was able to survive in the portable gaming market.

The Wonderswan was unique in that you could play games using two different screen orientations: horizontal or vertical, depending on the game being played.

The Wonderswan eventually saw two updates: the Wonderswan Color and the SwanCrystal.
