Sony has stepped in, however, to dismiss the rumors.

“No, there are currently no plans for a PSP2,” David Reeves of SCE Europe tells MCV. “I go to Tokyo quite a lot, and no one there has referred to it. I think they have their hands full at the moment.”

No PSP2 quite yet.
